Ente di Decolonizzazione – Borgo Rizza / Entity of Decolonization – Borgo Rizza is a project
by DAAR – Alessandro Petti and Sandi Hilal – exploring the possibility of critical reuse and
subversion of fascist colonial architecture through an art installation.
Currently on view at the Museo delle Civiltà (Museum of Civilizations) in Rome, within the
Museum of Opacities exhibition, the installation was presented and activated in several
venues in Naples (2022), Berlin (2022), Brussels (2023), Albissola Marina (2023), and Rome
(2023), and it was included in The Laboratory of the Future exhibition at the 18th
International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia, where DAAR was awarded
the Golden Lion for Best Participation for their long-standing commitment to deep political
engagement with architectural and learning practices of decolonization in Palestine and
Europe.
